What is eRecording?

Commercial Process Serving, Inc. is certified by CSC Corporation as a submitter of documents to be recorded electronically. Electronic Recording, or eRecording is the process of recording documents via secure means that would otherwise be sent by mail or courier to the County Assessor-Recorder’s Office for recordation.

Currently, eRecording is accepted in 45 of the 58 counties in California. Alameda, Butte, Calaveras, Contra Costa, El Dorado, Fresno, Glenn, Humboldt, Imperial, Inyo, Kern, Los Angeles, Madera, Marin, Merced, Modoc, Mono, Monterey, Napa, Nevada, Orange, Placer, Plumas, Riverside, Sacramento, San Benito, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Luis Obispo, San Mateo, Santa Barbara, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Shasta, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Tehama, Tulare, Tuolumne, Ventura, Yolo, and Yuba counties are included in those accepting.

To place an eRecording request, log into our Client Portal at Comproserve.net, and select County Recorders option. Once you place your order online, we will receive a confirmation of your request via email.

When submitting an eRecording online, we require possession of the original document(s). You can choose to mail, overnight delivery, or request a pickup of the original document(s) from your location.

Once the documents have been submitted, turnaround times vary per county. Some are completed same day; others may take several days. It is important to note that the date of recording will be the date the clerk processes the documents, not the date we submit the recording to them.

Upon completion, you will receive another email with a copy of your recorded document, along with your original paperwork.

What Are The Costs of eRecording?

  • Concierge service: $55.95, plus $25.00 for each additional recordable document.
  • Expedited service: $35.00+
  • Recording fees: Cost, plus 5% of fees advanced
